Alyssa Martin

Alyssa Martin is a Toronto-based choreographer with a passion for teaching and movement. Having taught dancers of all ages and abilities for over 10 years, Alyssa discovered Pilates as an incredibly supportive movement modality both within her own career and in working with others. Hooked on Pilates and eager to learn more, she trained for her teaching certification under Leslie Parker at Mindful Movement Centre, working to fuse her experience in dance with her new found love for Pilates.

As a choreographer, Alyssa has shown her work both in Canada and the United States to critical acclaim. She also works frequently as a guest artist at Ryerson University, where she is currently part-time faculty. She is the Artistic Director of Rock Bottom Movement, an absurd dance theatre company she founded in 2012. She has her BFA Honours in Dance from Ryerson Theatre School and has trained in many different movement styles in Toronto, Montreal, New York and Berlin.

In everything that she does, Alyssa works to help people find strength, boldness and individuality within their movement so that they may be empowered to continually work on becoming their most supported and unique selves. Alyssa is very proud to be a part of the Mindful Movement community where she is continually learning from the incredible team of teachers and movers!
